Description

Pianist Jason Lyle Black will take you on a walk down memory lane with his original song, “Champs-Élysées.” He composed it to evoke feelings of nostalgia and hope, and for Jason, the famous avenue in Paris by the same name embodies those emotions. He is accompanied by Rebecca Moench on violin.

Jason has performed around the country and internationally for several years. He recently released his own album. What he loves most about music is the power it has to unify.

“It’s just really fun to connect with people and bring them something they enjoy. … Some of my music is spiritual, but some of my music is very not spiritual—it’s just fun or funny. I feel like ultimately it’s the same thing: you’re reaching people’s hearts and lifting them up,” he explains.

In this episode, Jason also plays a beautiful arrangement of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.”

Mormon Channel Studio is a weekly video series featuring beautiful hymn arrangements and original music by LDS musicians from across the nation.
