Empowering Yourself

June 27, 2017

If as a woman you are struggling with feelings of low self-esteem and doubt, you’re not alone. Across the world and throughout time, this has been the case for many. In this episode, our host describes five ways women she knows have cultivated their confidence.

The first suggestion is to talk and think positively about yourself. Has someone complimented you recently? Did you accept the compliment? Make an effort to say “thank you” in the future.

Motherhood is also empowering. Both men and women will find power in focusing on the needs of others, and motherhood requires daily selflessness. While only some women have the privilege of starting a family and raising children, each of us can act as “mothers” to the people we encounter who could use our love and care.

Become a lifelong learner. The scriptures teach us that whatever knowledge we work to gain in this life will stay with us even after we die. You could work toward a degree. You could learn a trade or develop a talent you enjoy. Discovering truth and skill is empowering. There will always be something new to learn.

Spend time with positive people who care about you and want you to succeed. It is important to believe in yourself, and it becomes easier to do when you seek advice and support from people who believe in you too.

Most importantly, always remember that you are a child of God. He loves you, He has a plan for you, and He will never leave you to work through life alone.
