Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints live all around the world, and many of them are the only members in their families. Rachel is one of those members. Today, she shares her stories of discovering the Church, choosing to be baptized, and staying true to her faith even when her family disagreed with her.
When she first joined the Church, Rachel avoided telling her family about the things she was learning and experiencing because she knew they weren’t interested in her beliefs. Since then, she’s found that being open with her family gives everyone opportunities to build understanding and respect.
“I personally think that me being an example of the gospel in my family and in my household has really helped my family to see what it’s really about, rather than having these stereotypes of people living the gospel,” she says.
