Who Is God?
Some think of God as a vague but powerful being. Others see God as their Heavenly Father, who loves and forgives them. Many don’t know if they even believe if God exists.
The truth is God does exist, and you can know it for yourself. You can know it as you look and ask to feel the hope of God’s light and His love for you. You can even know it by simply observing nature. Thomas S. Monson has said: “If there is a design in this world in which we live, there must be a Designer. Who can behold the many wonders of the universe without believing that there is a design for all mankind? Who can doubt that there is a Designer?”
How to Learn More about God
Pray to Him
The gospel was restored to mankind after a 14-year-old boy named Joseph Smith decided to pray for answers to his questions. You can receive answers too.
We can communicate with God through daily prayer. Ask for inspiration, ask for forgiveness, and take time to thank Him for all He’s given to you. In the story below, Daisy describes how the power of prayer can work miracles in our lives and teach us about God’s character.
Study about Him
In the scriptures we read about the lives of real people who had experiences with God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Their stories can help us understand our own.
Describing the miraculous translation of the King James Bible, one Church leader reminds us what a blessing it is to have the scriptures available to read for ourselves.
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and serves as a companion scripture to the Bible. A young bishop in England describes how the Book of Mormon came to life for him and changed his perspective forever.
