This week we are highlighting the Conversations episode featuring Sister Rosemary Wixom, Primary general president, and her husband, Jack.
Sister and Brother Wixom both discuss their childhoods and the positive impact Primary had on them from a young age.
When the time came for college, Sister Wixom went to Utah State and majored in elementary education because of her love for teaching children. She discusses how much she learned about herself and the important things in life during that time.
Brother Wixom attended the University of Utah. He and Sister Wixom share the story of how they met in a department store, their courtship, and their family life. They discuss the importance of always living the gospel at home in order to strengthen their family foundation and positively impact their children.
Sister Wixom also gives insight into receiving the overwhelming call to serve as the Primary general president, selecting counselors, and the incredible things she and her husband have learned through that experience. It is so inspiring to get a glimpse into these unique, vulnerable experiences the leaders of the Church have behind the scenes of their busy callings for the Lord.
Brother and Sister Wixom bear testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and of the power of children and families. Sister Wixom shares the advice that “if we don’t teach our children, the world will.” She encourages parents everywhere not to wait to teach vital life and spiritual lessons in the home.
