Celebrating Easter and the Life of Jesus Christ With Music

April 13, 2017

Easter is a time of remembering Jesus Christ and of celebrating His Resurrection. What is a celebration without music? The Easter music videos below will fill your mind with peace and your heart with gratitude as you think about Christ and His great sacrifice for each of us.

1. Nearer, My God, to Thee

Images in this music video, featuring Eric Malizia, portray moments when Jesus Christ personally reached out to those who needed His help, love, and understanding. He still reaches out to us today.

Gordon B. Hinckley said, “Never assume that you can make it alone. You need the help of the Lord.”

2. I Am Here

The eight Bonner siblings and their parents gathered from around the country to compose and record this original song based on the hymn “I Need Thee Every Hour.”

3. Hallelujah Chorus

The Hebrew translation of the word hallelujah is “praise ye the Lord.” Watch this moving video, featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and a virtual choir of people from around the world, singing the “Hallelujah” chorus by George Frideric Handel.

4. Gethsemane

Gethsemane was the garden where Christ prayed to Heavenly Father and suffered for the sins of everyone. The song “Gethsemane” was written by Roger and Melanie Hoffman, and in this Easter music video 3-year-old Claire Ryann Crosby sweetly performs it.

5. He Is Risen

This hymn reminds us to joyfully tell the world that Jesus Christ has risen from the tomb, that He conquered death, and that because of Him, so will we.
