Conversations features interviews with General Authorities, auxiliary leaders, and faithful Latter-day Saints conducted in a style that allows the listener to become acquainted with those being interviewed in an informal way.

Ruth Todd interviews Herbert Klopfer, who grew up as a member of the Church in East Germany during the World War II era. Brother Klopfer describes a dangerous and daring border escape and his subsequent life in the United States, where he pursued his musical interests and experienced some unique additional twists in his life. Through it all, the Church has had a great positive influence in his life.
